Xiaomi has registered the “XIAOMI SU9 LUX” trademark for vehicles, adding to reports that it is developing a larger executive sedan. The trademark record shows an application date of February 13 and a registration announcement on September 7, with protection running until September 2036.
Chinese automotive reports have linked the name to a longer-wheelbase SU7 derivative previously referred to as the SU7L. Reported road-test sightings show a longer body, with additional space behind the front seats and signs of rear-wheel steering.
The vehicle is expected to target buyers seeking more rear-seat space and comfort than the standard SU7 offers. Xiaomi has not formally announced the SU9 LUX model name, specifications or launch date. [TechNode reporting]
