Kunlun Tech released Matrix-Game 4.0 on October 15, an open-source system that combines a game engine with real-time AI video rendering on a single consumer graphics card. The company says it delivers 480p gameplay at 60 frames per second on an Nvidia RTX 5090, with input-to-response latency below 150 milliseconds.
The game engine maintains the world’s state, physics and interaction rules, while a video model turns simple, low-poly frames into detailed visuals. A coding agent can translate player instructions into new game rules and prompts, enabling changes to gameplay alongside AI-generated rendering.
The release includes model weights, inference code, a browser demo and game assets for shooting and driving scenarios. The team plans to improve resolution, expand support for different game types and explore multiplayer experiences with consistent views across players. [Skywork AI]
