XPENG plans to introduce its Navigation Guided Pilot driver-assistance system in Europe in 2027 and is working with local regulators on the rollout. Liu Xianming, who leads the company’s general intelligence center, told Bloomberg ahead of the Paris Motor Show that XPENG had adapted the system from one European country to another in about two weeks.
The adaptation used roughly one ten-thousandth of the data required to train the underlying AI model, Liu said. XPENG aims to bring the system’s full capabilities to Europe, including navigating complex urban roads and highways, recognizing traffic signs, avoiding cyclists and adapting to local driving habits, alongside lane keeping and adaptive cruise control.
