Shenzhen-based AI startup Hypersphere Technology has raised hundreds of millions of RMB in angel funding, according to an October 26 report. Investors included Legend Capital, CAS Star, SenseTime Guoxiang Capital and WestSummit Capital. The company was founded by Chinese University of Hong Kong professor Weiyang Liu and focuses on developing next-generation foundation models.
Hypersphere’s approach, which it calls “Infinite Models,” combines specialized models into a coordinated system. The company plans to develop its own expert models while incorporating capabilities from existing open and proprietary models, using routing and aggregation to match different tasks. Its research includes model pretraining, reinforcement-learning post-training, parameter-efficient fine-tuning and model merging. [Jiwei, in Chinese]
