ByteDance’s Doubao has denied reports that it laid off staff and cut half of its general-session team. Liu Xing, the company’s public relations head, said on September 24 that the reports were inaccurate and that the changes were part of an internal division of responsibilities.
Liu said the team had fewer than 50 employees, with 11 people affected by the restructuring and three leaving the company.
