Huawei said at Huawei Connect 2026 in Shanghai that more than 1,000 Ascend 910C supernodes have been deployed and that Ascend 950 supernodes have entered commercial use. The company also said development of its Ascend 960 chip is ahead of schedule, with the 960DT planned for the first quarter of 2027 and the 960PR for the third quarter.
Built around the Ascend 960 and Hi-ONE, Huawei’s NPO-based supernode uses 4,096 chips and can deliver up to 8 EFLOPS of FP8 computing power and 1 PB of HBM capacity. Huawei said 5,500 Hi-ONE units replace 40,000 800G optical modules, cutting power consumption by more than 550 kilowatts and bringing system availability to 99.8%.
Huawei also said openEuler installations have exceeded 20 million, making it the top server operating system in China by market share. [Huawei, in Chinese]
