Geely is reportedly reorganizing several companies in its battery businesses, which could eventually be folded into listed Geely Automobile if the battery group reaches profitability, according to a Blue Whale Auto report citing a Geely executive.
The executive said recent reports about CATL acquiring a Geely-linked battery project in Chongqing represented an individual case. Zhejiang Jiyao Tongxing Energy Technology, a Geely Holding Group unit that controls the project’s parent company, could be integrated into Geely Automobile later as part of the group’s “One Geely” strategy.
