ByteDance’s Doubao Phone Assistant has launched its consumer version, adding screen-based Q&A, local search across photos, messages and notes, and support for voice activation and a dedicated AI key.
The product is also opening its “operate phone” feature in beta. Its SAEP protocol lets third-party apps declare boundaries for AI-driven screen automation, while Doubao says it will respect apps that reject such operations. The first consumer version will be available on the nubia NaviX Ultra, scheduled to go on sale on Sept. 16. [TechNode reporting]
