China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has set a target of 9,800 EFLOPS of intelligent computing capacity by 2030 under its 15th Five-Year Plan for the information and communications industry.
The plan calls for RMB 3.8 trillion in information infrastructure investment from 2026 to 2030 and the construction of computing clusters with 10,000 or more accelerator cards, including some with 100,000 or more cards. China’s intelligent computing capacity stood at 2,185 EFLOPS at the end of June, up 177% year on year. The country had 52 facilities each containing more than 10,000 accelerators. [TechNode reporting]
