Stellantis is in talks with Huawei and JAC over a long-term industrial partnership for Maserati, according to people familiar with the discussions. The proposed arrangement could involve jointly developing a vehicle using Huawei’s automotive technology, with production potentially starting by the end of 2027.

The reported plan includes selling a vehicle based on the same underlying design under the Maextro brand in China and Maserati internationally. No agreement has been signed. Stellantis said it routinely discusses opportunities with industry partners, while Huawei and JAC did not immediately comment. Maserati is due to present its longer-term strategy in December, following annual shipments of fewer than 8,000 cars and an adjusted operating loss of €198 million last year. [Reuters]
