Alibaba’s mapping unit Amap has released ABot-Recon, an open-source 3D reconstruction model that can process just 12 consecutive video frames to reconstruct scenes spanning more than 10,000 frames in real time, according to a company release published on Aug. 28.
The project includes the model and implementation for developers. It is designed to maintain stable reconstruction over long video sequences without relying on a large historical memory window, giving researchers a new tool for applications involving autonomous driving, robotics and 3D scene understanding.
