Yangtze Memory Technologies’ semiconductor ecosystem in Wuhan is expanding, with 17 integrated-circuit companies signing agreements on Aug. 22 for projects with total planned investment exceeding RMB6 billion. The companies span semiconductor equipment, materials, inspection, components and chip design.
The projects are part of the Wutongshu Plan, promoted by Wuhan’s East Lake High-Tech Development Zone and anchor companies including Yangtze Memory. The plan aims to build a computing-and-storage semiconductor cluster centered on Yangtze Memory.
Many of the signed projects involve research centers and regional headquarters rather than new manufacturing plants, bringing more companies across the semiconductor supply chain into the same industrial cluster. [IT Home, in Chinese]
