China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said HarmonyOS has become the world’s third-largest mobile operating system. The ministry also said that devices in the OpenHarmony ecosystem now exceed 1.35 billion.

The ministry said OpenHarmony-based systems are already being used at scale in cars, home appliances, metallurgy and petrochemicals. The figures were disclosed at a State Council Information Office press conference on Aug. 26 covering China’s industrial development. [TechNode reporting]
