Shanghai-based brain-computer interface startup Active Technology (our translation of 主动科技, the company’s Chinese name) has completed a RMB330 million angel round, setting a record for angel financing in China’s brain-computer interface sector. The company focuses on invasive brain-computer interface technology and was established in February 2026.

The round was led by Zhongke Chuangxing, with Lenovo Star, 9 Capital, Daotong Investment, Inno Angel Fund, Huada Songhe Biotech Fund, Jifeng Capital and Jiadao Capital also participating. The company said it will use the funds to expand facilities, improve equipment, advance clinical trials and enlarge its team.

主动科技 said it has built a 2,500-square-meter site combining offices and a GMP workshop, and plans to build a new headquarters of more than 10,000 square meters by the end of 2026. Its product roadmap covers motor, visual and emotional brain-computer interfaces, with development spanning flexible electrodes, dedicated chips, decoding algorithms and system integration.
