China’s AMEC plans to expand its portfolio to more than 100 types of high-end semiconductor equipment within five years through in-house development and external acquisitions. Founder and chairman Yin Zhiyao made the remarks at the company’s 22nd anniversary event on Aug. 1.
AMEC said it has developed 54 types of high-end semiconductor equipment, including 26 plasma etching tools and 24 thin-film processing tools, as well as chemical-mechanical polishing and metrology equipment. The company said its etching and thin-film equipment has reached atomic-level processing precision.
By 2035, Yin said, AMEC aims to rank among the global first-tier semiconductor equipment companies in terms of scale, product competitiveness and customer satisfaction. [21st Century Business Herald, in Chinese]
