What happened: BestSign, a leading Chinese electronic signature company, announced they have received RMB 358 million ($52.4 million) for Series C. The investment is led by Tiger Global. Established in 2014, BestSign aims to become Chinaโs DocuSign, a global signature service provider which went public on Nasdaq in 2015. BestSignโs corporate clients include the Construction Bank of China, Meituan, Lenovo, Geely, and Zhihu.
Why itโs important: The 2B business in China is quickly realizing increasing value of corporate services. Still approaching a mature digital service innovation ecosystem, Chinese enterprises in the future will continue borrowing innovation models from the West. Meanwhile, as technology in the electronic signature field matures, grabbing market shares and securing cooperation channels will be more important.
